Holiday Rushhh!!!

RAW Artists Fashion Show Recap!

UPDATE: Video just in!

I've come to know about RAW Artists event through a friend's Instagram photos. Few months later I ran into RAW again cos another friend was doing a showcase with them. I thought maybe I should check it out, went on their website, and just filled out the artist application. Well, the next day I got a text from the show organizer, and a phone conference later, I signed up to do their showcase in LA on June 13, 2013.

RAW:natural born artists is an independent arts organization providing independent artists from independent film, fashion, music, visual art, performing art, hairstylists, makeup artists and more. With artists from all genres in each showcase, RAW events come together to form an amazing one-night circus of creativity. These showcases occur once a month in nearly 60 cities across the United States, Australia, Canada and, now London! So maybe I'll do one in London! ;-)

The theme for our runway show was ocean, beach life, boho but most of all California! It's a theme I personally love and as you know we have an existing Oceane collection. These four runway looks are the extension of that collection, and created slightly larger-than-life for the runway! Love the Kovey line of swimwear and Dynamic Asia scarves that our stylist so expertly pulled together for us. Then the gorgeous beachy looks are perfected by the beautiful wavy hair and golden natural make-up. Two of our models carrying AmyKathryn handbags. Do you like these looks as much as I do?

The night was finally there! For those who attended the event, LOVE you!!! It was quite scary as anything could happen on the runway...as a paranoia that I am! :) Thankfully everything on the runway and our display table pulled together by our incredibly talented and loving team of models, stylist, make-up and hair stylists, intern and fellow artists. The energy just filled the room and I was just so excited and grateful...combining all this creativity with drinks, fun, and good company!

Elements 2.0!

So excited to be launching the second installment of our Elements collection. Found this template from a fellow blogger, andrealyip.com, and modified it to highlight the new pieces along side the design elements that we focus on: aestheic, compassion, sustainability, human-centered, prototyping, and empathy. 

With this collection I named ELEMENTS I attempt to take a more elemental and architectural approach towards the basic forms, mimicking the natural and curvilinear forms found in nature. It's a parallel universe of the representation of animals or florals we did before. Take a look, I hope you like it!

LA Fashion Week Recap

Fashion shows are fun and cool! We were happy to be a part of two shows in the LA Fashion Week event. It's a citywide series of fashion shows, trunk shows, often involving emerging designers. At the first show on March 7 at the LA Fashion Council, we collaborated with our favorite eco clothing line SOLDAT tailoring, which many of you have seen our photoshoots together. And at the second show on March 14 at the EPIC boutique, we showed with three other clothing lines- Soldat, Peri, Ism and these are the images from that night, showing four looks from our one-of-a-kind Fall 2013 collection. Materials used are all vintage, fair-trade, and recycled. Keep 'em all eco-friendly!
